After kicking off my career in the computer field, I soon discovered that the impersonal nature of working with machines was not my “bag.” I needed a career that combined my passion for outdoors with my love for dogs. Why spend my life working behind a desk answering technical support calls – I needed to be around positive customers. I found my calling was just a scoop away – I founded Double Doody in June of 2002 and have been happily picking up pooch pies ever since!

My Life went to the Dogs

Before I had my first dog, who would have ever dreamed that I would start a business that was totally dog related. After all, my idea of a dog then was an animal that stank, slobbered, shed and did other things that I thought were not very becoming. But in the spring of 1992, after repeated hints from my oldest son, Nate, I gave in and got my first dog ever. I think it was about forty eight hours later that I became one of the biggest dog lovers off all time. My husband once told me if I ever had a dog of my own that I would understand why people love them so much. He was so right! Now I have two totally spoiled dogs that come up in the bed with us at night and (I hate to admit) get more treats than they should. I admit that sometimes I worry more about my dogs than I do about my grown children! My family would probably readily agree that my dogs are the “favorites.” What can I say? I LOVE DOGS!

Rocky Mountain Paradise

I moved to Colorado Springs in June 1984 with my husband and two children. Together Roger and I owned and operated Americlean, a carpet and upholstery cleaning business, for thirteen years and he has since reopened that business. We had our third child, a Colorado native, in 1986. Now my kids are grown and I became a grandma in May of 2003. I live with my husband, two dogs, and a cat I inherited from my daughter when she moved out of state. I really love being outdoors in beautiful Colorado. I enjoy tending to my yard, traveling, and spending time with my family when I’m not enjoying working with my four-legged clients!
